What is the difference between Assignee and Standardised Assignee?

Original Assignee is the Assignee on the Patent (owner of the patent) as written on the patent document.

However, these Assignee names can differ for the same company (for example – IBM can be I.B.M, or IBM Inc., or IBM Consulting, or International Business Machines).

Standardized Assignee is a system that PatSnap have created to normalize all the assignees, such that the standardized assignee IBM holds all the patents of previously mentioned different Assignee names.

You can search for a standardized assignee by using the following operator:

ANS:"company name"
