My Database

Turn your internal sequence data into a searchable resource with My Database in Patsnap Bio. Learn how to upload FASTA files, save sequences directly from Bio results, organize private databases, and search them, helping you find relevant sequences faster and streamline your workflow. Available with the Bio-Professional package.

• My Database is available to users in the Bio-Professional package.
  
  It lets you create private sequence databases for internally accumulated sequence data.
  
  These databases can then be searched against to improve workflow efficiency.
  
  To access it, go to the far left sidebar and click My Database.
• The My Database page shows all of your private sequence databases.
  
  You can see how many databases you already have created.
  
  Up to 100 databases can be created in this area.
• Click Upload File at the top of the My Database page.
  
  Upload a FASTA file containing your sequences.
  
  Choose the correct sequence type before uploading:
  
  Click Upload to create the database.
• Hover over the database name.
  
  Click the edit pencil icon.
  
  Enter the new name and save it.

• Sequences can also be added from the Bio results page.
  
  This is useful when you extract sequences from a source such as a patent and want to save them.
  
  Select the sequences you want to store.
  
  In the example, all sequences were selected using the checkbox at the top.
• After selecting sequences, a pop-up appears in the bottom-right corner.
  
  Choose Save to My Database.
  
  You can then either:
  
  Create a new database, or
  
  Save to an existing database
  
  Example shown:
  
  New database name: Patent Extraction
  
  Sequence type: Protein
  
  Click the checkmark to confirm and create the database.
• Go to Sequence Search from the far left sidebar.
  
  Open your search type and enter the sequence search area.
  
  On the right side of the page, find Search Preferences.
  
  Open the database selection dropdown.
  
  Choose My Database and select the specific database(s) you want to search within.
• My Database helps you create, organize, and search private sequence databases.
  
  You can build databases from:
  
  FASTA file uploads
  
  Sequences saved from Bio results
  
  Searching within these databases helps save time and improve workflow efficiency in Patsnap Bio.
