Introduction to Searching

This video outlines the steps to effectively run a search and analyze results in the Synapse platform.

  • Open the Synapse platform.

    Locate the search bar in the middle of the screen.
  • Identify the type of data you want to search for.

    Choose the appropriate tab above the search bar:

    Pattern Data for patent data.

    Drug Data for drug-related information.
  • Enter the specific entity you are interested in into the search bar.

    For example, select the Drug Data tab and search for 'small molecule'.
  • Select the proposed option (e.g., Small Molecule Drug).

    Click the blue search button to execute the search.
  • Review the results page.

    Use the filters on the left-hand side to narrow down results (e.g., select a specific target like 'tubulin').

    Click refine to apply the filters.
  • Click on the show hide fields button to customize the data display.

    Choose to display or hide specific fields (e.g., generic name, active indication).
  • Navigate to the top right corner of the results sheet.

    Select Analysis to view visual graphs and charts relevant to your dataset.
  • Identify which charts and reports you want to export.

  • Return to the table view to continue analysis.

    Select different data types (e.g., clinical trials, patent data) to regroup your results.
