Drafting Center

Drafting Center is the central workspace for organizing and accessing your Patent Drafting, Office Action Response (OAR), and Invention Disclosure projects in Eureka.

To find Drafting Center, open any drafting agent in Eureka by Patsnap. In the left-side navigation, locate the Drafting section and select Drafting Center.

Use Drafting Center to find existing projects, organize them into folders, start new projects, and manage project information and access.

Note: All drafting agent's history will be stored within the Drafting Center. It will not appear in the History tab.

Find and View Projects

Use the folder panel on the left to browse your projects. You can select All Folders, Default Folder, or one of your custom folders.

Custom folders can help you organize projects by client, case, technical topic, or another structure that works for your drafting workflow.

  • Use the controls at the top of Drafting Center to find the projects you need.
    • Search: Search by project name or keyword.
    • Task type: Show all tasks or filter for Patent Drafting, OAR, or Invention Disclosure. OAR denotes Office Action Response.
    • Sort: Change the order in which projects are displayed.
    • View: Switch between card and list views.

  • Projects are displayed in recent and all-project sections.

In card view, each project card displays the project name in the header and the project description in the body, together with its task type and update time.

Open a project when you want to review its materials, edit documents, or continue an unfinished task.

Create a Project

You can create a basic project first and add materials afterward, or provide your materials and start a task directly.

  • Open Default Folder or the custom folder where you want to create the project, then select New Project in the upper-right corner.

    1. Select the project type.
    2. Enter the project name.
    3. Add an optional description.
    4. Select Create.
    5. Open the project to add materials and start working on its tasks.
  • To provide source materials and start a task directly, open the arrow beside New Project and select the Upload materials and start Agent option.

    1. Select the task type.
    2. Enter your technical content or add files.
    3. Configure the template.
    4. Select the output language.
    5. Select the model.
    6. Wait for the materials to finish processing before starting creation.

Office Action Response projects can have specific application and material requirements. Review the Office Action Response (OAR) guidance before starting an OAR task.

  • The project name is optional when you use the upload-and-start-Agent workflow.

If you leave the name blank, the system uses your materials and selected output language to generate a project or document title. You can edit the project later if you want to change it.

If you manually enter a title, that title is preserved. This can be useful when your team follows specific client, matter, or case-naming conventions.

Manage Existing Projects

Use the three-dot menu for a project to access its available management options.

  • Open the project's three-dot menu and select the edit option to update its project information.

  • Open the project's three-dot menu and use the sharing option to configure access to the project.

  • Use the project's three-dot menu to move it to another folder.

Moving a project changes where it is organized in Drafting Center. It does not change the project's tasks or document content.

  • Open the project's three-dot menu and select the delete option when you no longer need the project.

Before deleting a project, check whether you still need its tasks, documents, or attachments, and read the deletion confirmation carefully before proceeding.

Troubleshooting

  • If a project does not appear where you expect it, check the folder currently selected in the left panel.

You should also clear or adjust your search terms and check whether the task-type filter is hiding the project. You can select All Folders to broaden the projects shown.

  • Use the main New Project option when you want to create the project first and add materials or start tasks afterward.

Use the Upload materials and start Agent option when you already have your source materials and want to configure and start a task as part of the project creation workflow.
