There are 5 different search types on the Bio platform.
- Sequences
- Antibody
- Motif
- Fragment
- Advanced
This article will cover Fragment Searching:
When searching and viewing patents on the Bio Platform you will need to follow a three-step process.
- Run a sequence search with Bio filters.
- Refine Search results using source filters.
- View results on analytics.
Fragment Search:
The fragment searching function is used to search for sections of DNA, RNA or protein sequences. The tool allows for fragments to be searched by size and position.
- Searching by Size
When searching by fragment use the Bio filters on the right-hand side of the screen to identify the maximum length of the search query.
- Searching by Position
When searching by position and uploading multiple queries to the search box, make sure to identify the start and end position of each fragment using the “multi” Bio filter.
After you have inputted your search query and applied the appropriate bio filters on the right of the screen the search button will activate.
On the search results page you have the option to filter your results using the filters on the left. Once you know which sequences you want to view select the desired sequences and click view sources.
From the view sources page select on the desired sequence codes then click view in analytics. This will take all the results into a workspace where they can be stored and further manipulated or interacted with.
