Admin Management
This guide explains how an administrator can access the PatSnap admin portal, invite users, assign administrator privileges, and allocate or reassign licenses within an organization. It is designed to help team members manage access efficiently and keep licenses assigned to the right users.
- If you are a licensed user:
Open any PatSnap product.
Select the admin/settings icon under the bubble in the top-right corner.
In certain solutions, look for Admin Settings in the new menu.
In Eureka, find the bubble in the bottom-left corner and select Admin Settings.
If you do not have a product license:
Go to admin.patsnap.com.
Sign in with your PatSnap credentials to access the admin portal. - In the admin portal, navigate to the Users tab.
This is the primary area used for day-to-day administration.
From here, you can:
Invite new users
Edit user details
Assign administrator privileges
Turn licenses on or off for individual users - Select Invite Users.
Choose one of the following invitation methods:
Invitation link: Copy the link and share it through tools like Teams or email.
Email invitation: Paste a list of organization email addresses.
Select Next.
Assign the appropriate package(s) or access level for the invited users.
Send the invitation so users can complete registration. - Users will receive an email prompting them to finish account setup.
They must create a password to complete registration.
The email address registered will automatically be their organization email address.
Once registration is complete, the user will appear in the Users list. - In the Users list, locate the user you want to update.
Select the three dots on the far right of the user row.
Choose Edit User Detail.
Update user information as needed, such as:
Name
Title
Other demographic details
If needed, assign administrator privileges to another user so they can manage licenses as well. - In the user detail screen, scroll to the section showing all licenses in your package.
For each user, toggle licenses:
Off to deactivate a license for a user who is unavailable
On to activate a license for a user who needs access
Use this when a team member is:
On leave
On a business trip
Temporarily not using the product
Save or submit the changes to apply them immediately. - Check the package summary to see:
How many licenses are available
How many total licenses are included in the organization subscription
Use this information to plan assignments and avoid over-allocation. - Refer to the Help Center for additional guidance.
If questions remain, contact help@patsnap.com for support. - Administrator privileges can be assigned to both licensed and non-licensed users.
Make sure you are editing the correct user before changing license access.

Use organization email addresses when inviting users to avoid registration issues.
Only assign admin rights to trusted users who need to manage licenses and user access. - Use the invitation link method when onboarding multiple users quickly.
Keep a small list of backup administrators so license management continues when one admin is unavailable.
Regularly review the Users list to identify inactive users whose licenses can be reassigned.
Check license availability before inviting new users to ensure the correct package is assigned.
Use the admin portal directly at admin.patsnap.com if you do not have a product license.
