Bulk Search

This video provides an overview of how to use Bulk Search in Patsnap Analytics to quickly search and analyze large lists of patent records or organizations. You'll learn how to upload publication or application numbers or assignee names, verify your inputs using the matching tool, and launch a search to review the results. The video also covers best practices for formatting your data, input limits, and how to continue your analysis using familiar Analytics features such as filtering, patent detail pages, workspaces, and collaboration tools.

  • Bulk Search lets you search multiple records or organizations at once.

It is useful when you already have a list of:

    patent publication or application numbers

    company or assignee names

    Common use cases include:

importing records exported from another database

pasting in a list from a colleague

checking a set of competitor organizations

Instead of searching one item at a time, you can bring a whole list into Analytics in just a few clicks.
  • Go to the Analytics homepage.

Find Bulk Search in the search options on the left-hand side.

Click Bulk Search to open the input interface.
  • Bulk Search supports two search types:

Record number search for patent publication or application numbers

Assignee search for organizations or company names

In the example shown, the workflow uses Record number search.
  • Copy your list of patent publication or application numbers.

Paste the list directly into the Bulk Search input box.

The tool is designed to accept multiple entries at once, so you can load your data quickly.
  • Make sure publication numbers are formatted correctly:

    include the country code

    include the patent number

include the kind code when applicable

Review the separator settings at the bottom of the page:

decide whether commas and spaces should be treated as separators

Keep the input limits in mind:

    Record inputs: up to 5,000

    Assignee inputs: up to 100
  • Click Match on the right side of the page.

Review the matching log to see:

    the input record

what it matched against in the database

    the match status

If needed, download the matching log to Excel for review.
  • Once you are satisfied with the matches, click Search.

This sends you to the search results page.

From there, the matched records are ready for analysis.
  • After Bulk Search, the workflow is the same as any other Analytics search.

    You can:

    apply filters

open individual patent detail pages by clicking publication numbers

    save results to a workspace

use the results for collaboration and monitoring

Bulk Search is just a faster way to get data into Analytics; the rest of the analysis workflow stays familiar.
  • Bulk Search is a simple but powerful way to investigate a pre-existing list of patents or organizations.

It saves time by eliminating one-by-one searching.

Once imported, you can immediately filter, analyze, visualize, and organize the results using Patsnap Analytics.
