How to Use the AI Claim Chart Feature in Patsnap

• This feature is available to users with an Analytics Premium subscription.
  
  Open your Patent of Interest.
  
  Click the Claims tab on the left side of the document.
  
  In the Claims view, locate the Claim Chart tool.
• Expand the Claim Chart menu to see two options:
  
  Complete Claim Chart: extracts features and compares them to references.
  
  Feature Extraction: only extracts features from the claims for export or later use.
  
  Use Complete Claim Chart if you want Patsnap to do both the extraction and comparison steps.
  
  Use Feature Extraction if you only want the claim features pulled out of the patent.
• Start from your Patent of Interest, which becomes the Comparison Target.
  
  Click Add Comparison Reference.
  
  You can add up to three references total.
  
  References can be either:
  
  Patent documents
  
  Free-text technical descriptions
  
  This flexibility supports different use cases, such as:
  
  Invalidity analysis using patent-to-patent comparison
  
  Infringement or freedom-to-operate analysis using a technical description
• After adding references, click Next.
  
  Patsnap will extract features from the Claims section of the target patent.
  
  Allow a few seconds for the system to process the claims and generate the extracted features.
• Decide whether to include:
  
  Independent claims only, or
  
  Dependent claims as well
  
  You can also:
  
  Merge extracted features
  
  Delete features you do not want included
  
  If you only want the extracted feature table, you can export it to Excel from this screen.
  
  When the feature set looks right, click Confirm.
• Once finalized, the claim chart becomes interactive.
  
  You can click mapped features to jump directly to the original source text in the reference.
  
  This makes it easy to verify exactly where each feature was matched.
  
  The tool speeds up both the claim chart creation and the analysis/review process.
• If you want to share the final output with colleagues, click Export.
  
  This lets you take the completed claim chart out of Patsnap for external use.
